T-Valve Splitting the water from your tank to the wall and your installation is Leaking?
Most Common Problem: The top of the T-Valve that connects to the fill valve on the toilet is not sealing well enough
Troubleshooting Tips:
- Make sure the washer is in there. Always double check this first.
- It’s possible you need to add second washer in the T-Valve (we provide 2 in your DUDE Wiper 1000 Kit) This can be needed to shorten the depth of the T-Valve and create a tighter seal.
- Plumbing Tip:
- Plumbers tape does not create a seal – it simply helps the screw threads tighten up.
If you absolutely cannot get your install to seal without leaking, but can get your original hose hooked up without a leak, then another alternative might be to install a T-Valve at the wall as a second option. The size at the wall can either be ½” or 3/8”.
We rarely see issues with the fill valve as this is a universal size, but things happen and DUDES sometime strip threads.
